Chernus, Penn, Pill, Plimpton, et al. Set for New Georges’ Barefoot in Tribeca Benefit

New Georges will hold its 2008 gala benefit Barefoot in Tribeca at 6:30pm on Monday, June 9 at a five-story apartment at 13 Harrison Street.

During the event, the company will present its second Luminosity Award to actress Martha Plimpton, who is nominated for the Tony Award this year for Top Girls. Her many other stage credits include Cymbeline, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and The Coast of Utopia.

Throughout the three-hour benefit, there will be performances of short plays by Neena Beber, Kara Lee Corthron, Kia Corthron, Eisa Davis, Jenny Schwartz, and Kathryn Walat, directed by Jessica Bauman and Sarah Cameron Sunde. Participating actors will include Carolyn Baeumler, Michael Chernus, Deborah Green, Marielle Heller, Kal Penn, Alison Pill, and Tommy Schrider.
