The play will be directed by Leigh Silverman and will run January 22-March 1, opening officially on February 5. Hunting and Gathering focuses on four interconnected New Yorkers, absorbed by the universe of Craig's List, laptops, and Scandinavian furniture, who seek a home in a world of temporary sublets, couch-surfing, and unstable love.
As previously announced, Primary Stages will also present New York premieres of plays by Michael Hollinger, Horton Foote, and Willy Holtzman. The season will kick off with Hollinger's Opus (July 24-September 1, opening August 7), about a world-renowned string quartet whose founder disappears right before a high-profile performance and is replaced by a young woman whose gifts inspire the group to abandon their planned program. Foote's Dividing the Estate (September 18- October 27, opening October 2) is a 13-character comedy about a family that must confront its past as it prepares for its future. Holtzman's Something You Did (March 18-April 26, opening April 1) tells the story of a former 1960s radical who is eligible for parole after serving nearly 30 years in jail for the accidental killing of a police officer.
