Patti LuPone to Perform at Britannia Ball on May 24

Tony Award winner Patti LuPone will perform a special version of her critically acclaimed show The Lady With the Torch as part of the Britannia Ball, to be held on Thursday, May 24 aboard the Queen Mary 2, which will be docked in Brooklyn Harbor. The evening will benefit both New York City Opera and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

A collection of torch songs, The Lady With the Torch has previously been performed at Feinstein’s at the Regency and at Carnegie Hall. The show has been recorded by Ghostlight Records.

LuPone won a Tony for Evita. Her other Broadway credits include The Robber Bridegroom, Master Class, Anything Goes, The Old Neighborhood, and Sweeney Todd. This summer, she will star as Mama Rose in a revival of Gypsy at City Center.

Tickets to the Britannia Ball, including cocktails, dinner, and dancing to Peter Duchin and his orchestra, are priced at $1,000 and $2,500. For information or to order tickets, call 718-636-4182.
