Idina Menzel to Star in LAByrinth’s Romantic Poetry Benefit

Tony Award winner Idina Menzel will star in a one-night benefit performance of Henry Krieger and John Patrick Shanley’s Romantic Poetry: The Musicale, to be held at 7pm on Monday, May 21 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. All proceeds from the event will benefit the LAByrinth Theater Company.

The cast (subject to availability) will also include Carlo Alban, Anastasia Barzee, Kim Director, Bill Evans, Ivan Hernandez, Andy Karl, Mark Linn-Baker, Chris McGarry, Patina Miller, and Orfeh.

Krieger is best known as the composer of Dreamgirls and Side Show. Shanley, a LAB member, is the author of Doubt, Defiance, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, and many other plays. Romantic Poetry is scheduled to get a production this summer at New York Stage and Film at Vassar College.
