Grinch To Play Broadway’s St. James Theatre Beginning November 1

After a successful limited engagement at the Hilton Theatre last year, Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical will return to Broadway for the 2007-2008 holiday season.

The musical will play the St. James Theatre from November 1 through January 6; the official opening date, as well as the cast and creative team, are yet to be announced.

The Grinch is based on the beloved Dr. Seuss tale that was published in 1957. The musical has book and lyrics by Timothy Mason and music by Mel Marvin; it also includes the Albert Hague songs “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas” from the classic animated TV film based on the story.

The show has been a long-time holiday favorite at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, where it was directed by Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien, who will also supervise the Broadway production, to be presented by Running Subway Productions.
