Tony Award winner Roger Bart will once again play Leo Bloom in The Producers, starting on May 16. He replaces Hunter Foster.

Bart has played Leo on Broadway in three previous stints, after originating the role of Carmen Ghia in the Tony Award-winning musical. He later returned to the role of Carmen for four months in the beginning of 2004, and re-created that part for the 2005 film version, which is being released on DVD tomorrow.

Bart received a Tony Award nomination for The Producers and won the Tony for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. He has also been seen on Broadway in Big River, Triumph of Love, and The Frogs. His film and television credits include The Stepford Wives, Bram and Alice, and Desperate Housewives.

The Producers also stars John Treacy Egan, Gary Beach, Angie Schworer, Brad Musgrove, and Bill Nolte.
