Tony Award winner Michael Crawford will perform a special gala concert at 7:30pm on Wednesday, May 24 to help inaugurate the LaSalle Bank Theatre in downtown Chicago. The 100-year-old venue, which began life as the Majestic Theatre and later became the Shubert, has just undergone a multi-million-dollar restoration and renovation.

The festivities will officially kick off at 8:30pm on Tuesday, May 23 with the lighting of the theater’s marquee. The following evening, Crawford will perform songs from The Phantom of the Opera and other Broadway shows.

On May 26 and 27, from noon until 5pm, there will be an open house at which guests can tour the public areas of the theater. The LaSalle will then kick off its season on May 30 with the national touring production of Golda’s Balcony, starring Valerie Harper.
