Emily Mann to Give Free Lecture at CUNY

Playwright and director Emily Mann will give a free lecture at 6:30pm on Monday, May 15 at the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center at the City University of New York (365 Fifth Avenue).

Mann’s play Anulla, about a Holocaust survivor, is now in previews at St. Luke’s Theatre. Her previous plays include Still Life and Execution of Justice. She is also the artistic director of the McCarter Theater in New Jersey, where her directorial projects have included Anna in the Tropics and All Over.

Other free events at MESTC include a reading of Ahmad Ghazali’s play The Sheep and the Whale (May 16 at 6:30pm), Buenos Aires in Translation, excerpts from four works by Argentine playwrights (May 24, 6:30pm), and Celebrating 100 Years of Clifford Odets, a day-long celebration of the famed playwright including a screening of the PBS film Broadway Dreamers: The Legacy of the Group Theatre as well as readings and panel discussions (June 5, 10am-8pm).
