The Café Carlyle, the famed cabaret venue located at the Carlyle Hotel on Madison Avenue, will not be closing this spring as previously announced.

Tony Award winner Elaine Stritch will perform her all new act at the club, September 12-November 4. She will once again be joined by musical director Rob Bowman. The runs of Stritch’s critically acclaimed show At Home at the Carlyle in Fall 2005 and Winter 2006 were completely sold out.

Stritch will be followed by another Carlyle veteran, singer Steve Tyrell, who will appear November 7-December 31. He will perform selections from the Great American Songbook and from his many recordings, including his recent CD, Songs of Sinatra.

The club is currently hosting Woman in White star Maria Friedman in a program of songs by Stephen Sondheim, through June 3. She will be followed by the ageless Eartha Kitt, June 6-July 1.
