Cantone, Friedman, Mason to Join Uptown Express at Symphony Space

Actor Mario Cantone, songwriter David Friedman, and Broadway/cabaret star Karen Mason will join the singing group Uptown Express for Movin On’ Up, a one-night-only program of music and comedy on Monday, May 24 at 7:30pm at Symphony Space’s Thalia Theatre (Broadway and 95th Street).

Uptown Express is a pop group born out of the New York Gay Men’s Chorus that has been entertaining audiences for the past 16 years. They have previously performed with such artists as Kristin Chenoweth, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Sam Harris, and Steven Brinberg.

Cantone starred on Broadway in Laugh Whore and Love! Valour! Compassion! and the television series Sex and the City. Friedman has written numerous popular standards including “Listen to My Heart” and “We Can Be Kind.” Mason has starred on Broadway in Sunset Boulevard and Mamma Mia!
