Gabriel Byrne, Jim Dale, Christine Ebersole, Beth Leavel, Lois Smith, and John Lloyd Young are among the winners of the 2006 Outer Critics Circle Awards.

The awards ceremony will be held on on Thursday, May 25 at Sardi’s Restaurant, beginning at 4pm. The group consists of approximately 100 writers and editors who cover theater for non-New York City and national outlets.

The Drowsy Chaperone and The History Boys took top honors, with four awards each, followed by Jersey Boys with three awards, including Outstanding Broadway Musical. Among the Off-Broadway shows honored were Grey Gardens, Stuff Happens, and In the Continuum, which won the coveted John Gassner Award.

Because of its late opening, Tarzan was not considered for this season’s Outer Critics Circle honors, and will instead be eligible next year.

The full list of this season’s nominees follows, with the winners names in bold.
