Tom Bosley and Michael Learned have replaced Richard Chamberlain and Hayley Mills as the stars of the upcoming national tour of Ernest Thompson’s On Golden Pond, which will now begin at the Ordway Performing Arts Center in St. Paul, Minnesota on August 22. The remainder of the touring schedule, as well as the show’s supporting cast, will be announced at a later date.

The production will feature the same creative team as last season’s Broadway revival, which starred James Earl Jones and Leslie Uggams: director Leonard Foglia, set designer Ray Klausen, costume designer Jane Greenwood, lighting designer Brian Nason, and sound designer Dan Moses Schreier (who also composed music for the show).

Bosley, who will play Norman Thayer, won a Tony Award for his performance in Fiorello! and has also starred on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast and Cabaret. He is best known for his role of Mr. Cunningham on the hit TV series Happy Days. Learned, who will play Ethel Thayer, has starred on Broadway in The Three Sisters, The Sisters Rosensweig, and Gore Vidal’s The Best Man. She is a four-time Emmy award winner for her work on the TV series The Waltons and Nurse.
