Stage and screen star Alec Baldwin has joined the cast of Carnegie Hall’s June 9 concert presentation of the Richard Rodgers-Oscar Hammerstein II musical South Pacific, in the role of Luther Billis. He joins the previously announced Reba McEntire (Nellie Forbush), Brian Stokes Mitchell (Emile de Becque), Jason Danieley (Lt. Cable), Lillias White (Bloody Mary), Conrad John Schuck (Captain Brackett), Dylan Baker (Cmdr. William Harbison), Alexander Gemignani (Stewpot), and Tom Deckman (Professor).

The concert, a benefit for Carnegie Hall, will be directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw. Paul Gemignani will serve as musical director-conductor. David Ives is doing the concert adaptation of the show’s book, which was co-written by Hammerstein and Joshua Logan, based on James A. Michener’s novel Tales of the South Pacific.
