Elizabeth Parkinson, and Chita Rivera
Tharp won the award for Best Choreographer, Elizabeth Parkinson won the award for Best Female Dancer, and John Selya won the award for Best Male Dancer. This is the first time in the 22-year history of the awards that one show has taken all of the honors. The awards were presented by previous Astaire Award winners Graciela Daniele (who presented to Selya), Scott Wise (who presented to Parkinson, his wife), and Susan Stroman (who presented to Tharp).
In addition, Chita Rivera was given a lifetime achievement award for her work in shows ranging from the original production of West Side Story to the current Broadway revival of Nine.
