Tony Winner Laura Benanti Joins Broadway Battles Bullying Lineup

The cast also includes Robin De Jesús, Todd Buonopane, and Mykal Kilgore.

Broadway Battles Bullying has announced that Laura Benanti (Encores! The Most Happy Fella), Robin De Jesús (La Cage aux Folles), Todd Buonopane (Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella), and Mykal Kilgore (Motown The Musical) have joined the cast of the upcoming April 14 concert event.

The evening, which will take place at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, will benefit the newly created Michael Morones Foundation. The foundation provides aid to the 11-year-old North Carolina boy who attempted to hang himself after being bullied by his classmates.

Previously announced performers include Tony winner Dan Fogler (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Jill Paice (Matilda The Musical), Stephen Wallem (Nurse Jackie), Carrie Manolakos (Mamma Mia!), Tony nominee Jennifer Laura Thompson (Wicked), Lauren Worsham (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), Joe Iconis and family, Aidan Gemme (Waiting for Godot), Natalie Joy Johnson (Kinky Boots), Anastacia McCleskey (Violet), Shakina Nayfack (One Woman Show), Jake Lucas (Newsies The Musical), and Sydney Lucas (Fun Home).

Featured on the evening's honorary host committee are Sirs Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, Mary-Louise Parker, Paula Cole, Megan Hilty, Jonathan Groff, and Julia Murney.

Morones is currently undergoing intensive rehabilitation after being found just in time to save his life.
