The Town Hall Will Celebrate Cole Porter and Leonard Bernstein This Summer

The midtown theater has announced its June and July lineup.

The music of Cole Porter and Leonard Bernstein will fill The Town Hall this summer, the midtown institution has announced. The 2014 summer season will contain a trio of one-night-only events featuring these songwriters and more.

The American premiere of Cole Porter's 1928 Ambassador Revue will take place on June 27. Created for Paris' Café des Ambassadeur, the production will feature Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks Orchestra, along with a tap-dance team and a ballroom dance couple. Ken Bloom directs.

Next up, on July 14, is Scott Siegel's annual Broadway's Rising Stars concert, giving recent graduates from the country's many performing arts schools the opportunity to begin their careers with a Town Hall debut. Scott Coulter directs an ensemble made up of students from AMDA, CAP 21, Marymount, Pace University, and more.

Finally, on July 17, Hershey Felder will present Maestro Bernstein, a play with music directed by Joel Zwick that brings the renowned conductor/composer Leonard Bernstein to life through his music.
