World-famous singer Janet Jackson will be the subject of celebration at The Meeting, hosted by Justin Sayre, on May 18 at Joe's Pub.

The International Order of Sodomites will hold its next installment of The Meeting, hosted by Justin Sayre, at the Public Theater's Joe's Pub on May 18 at 9:30pm. The gathering will honor the career of pop diva Janet Jackson.

A combination of outrageous comedy, politics, and cultural commentary, The Meeting features an iconic artist or cultural work held in high esteem by the gay community. Honorees are selected by the show's creator, writer, and host Justin Sayre, who brings in additional guest performers to add to the evening's program.

Upcoming 2014 shows include the special all-star concert Night of a Thousand Judys, scheduled for June 16. Proceeds from the fourth annual event will benefit the Ali Forney Center. Past performers include Martha Wash, Carolee Carmello, Justin Vivian Bond, Madeleine Peyroux, Karen Mason, Tonya Pinkins, Michael Musto, Jackie Hoffman, Karen Akers, Howard McGillin, Ashley Brown, Daniel Reichard, Paul Iacono, and Daisy Eagan, among many others.
