Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, and Natalie Cole Will Join Broadway's After Midnight

The legendary singers will take on the role of “Special Guest Star” vocalist throughout the summer.

Music icons Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, and Natalie Cole will join the seven-time Tony-nominated Broadway production of After Midnight as Special Guest Star vocalists throughout this summer, producers Scott Sanders and Wynton Marsalis have announced.

LaBelle will join the cast at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre from June 10-29, Knight will perform from July 8-August 3, and Cole, in her Broadway debut, will take the stage from August 5-31. Combined, this trio of performers boasts 18 Grammy Awards, 22 platinum and gold records, and almost 300 million albums sold worldwide. They take on the role previously filled by Fantasia Barrino, k.d. lang, Toni Braxton and Babyface, and Vanessa Williams.

Conceived by Jack Viertel, After Midnight is a retrospective of Duke Ellington's years at Harlem's famed Cotton Club. The revue features direction and choreography by Warren Carlyle, musical direction by Wynton Marsalis, and musical supervision by Daryl Waters. The design team for After Midnight includes Isabel Toledo (costumes) and Ruben Toledo, Tony Award winners John Lee Beatty (set design) and Howell Binkley (lighting design), and Peter Hylenski (sound).
