The Vineyard Theatre's upcoming world premiere production of Nicky Silver's Too Much Sun has extended its run by two weeks. Directed by Mark Brokaw and starring Linda Lavin, the dark comedy will begin performances on May 1 and run through June 22. It will officially open on May 18.

Too Much Sun follows Audrey Langham (Lavin), a celebrated actress who unravels as she prepares for a new production of Medea. She decides to escape by indulging in a summer by the sea with her married daughter, who does not extend the warmest of welcomes. Audrey instead sets off a chain of harrowing and hilarious events that lead to an unforgettable summer.

Joining Lavin in the cast are Jennifer Westfeldt, Matt Dellapina, Ken Barnett, Richard Bekins, and Matt Dickson. The production's creative team includes Donyale Werle (scenic design), Michael Krass (costume design), David Lander (lighting design), and David Van Tieghem (sound design).
