MCC Theater has announced full casting for the American premiere of Penelope Skinner's The Village Bike. The play, which will be the final production of MCC's 2013-14 Main Stage season, will be directed by Sam Gold and will star Greta Gerwig. The Village Bike will premiere at The Lucille Lortel Theatre on May 22, with an official opening on June 10.

In addition to Gerwig, the cast will feature Max Baker, Jason Butler Harner, Lucy Owen, Cara Seymour, and Scott Shepherd.

In The Village Bike, Gerwig plays Becky, a married, pregnant, and sexually adventurous schoolteacher who decides to explore the countryside on a secondhand bike. The play was first produced in 2011 at the Royal Court Theater in London, where Skinner won The Evening Standard's award for most promising playwright.

Maggie Gyllenhaal was originally set to star in the production but withdrew in February, citing scheduling conflicts.
