Malcolm Gets will join Jennifer Bowles and Rob McClure in the New York City Center Encores! production of Irma La Douce, running for seven performances, from May 7-11. Gets replaces Allan Corduner. Irma La Douce will be directed by John Doyle and choreographed by Chase Brock, with music direction by Rob Berman.
Irma La Douce, the final production of the 2014 Encores! season, will also feature Sam Bolen, Ben Crawford, Stephen DeRosa, Ken Krugman, Zachary James, and Chris Sullivan.
The musical tells the tale of a Parisian lady of the evening (Bowles) and the law student (McClure) who falls in love with her. It features music by Marguerite Monnot and English book and lyrics by Julian More, David Heneker, and Monty Norman, with original book and lyrics by Alexandre Breffort.
Malcolm Gets has appeared on Broadway in Macbeth, Amour, and The Molière Comedies. He is known for his portrayal of Richard on NBC's Caroline in the City.
