Producer Jeffrey Finn (The Realistic Joneses) has announced that An Act of God is headed to Broadway. The new comedy is a stage adaptation of The Last Testament: A Memoir by God, a book purportedly written by God and scribed by David Javerbaum, who has won 11 Emmys for his work as a head writer and executive producer for The Daily Show With Jon Stewart.

Finn says that the identity of the actor "whose body God will borrow for the show" has yet to be determined. Oprah Winfrey has allegedly passed on the part.

David Javerbaum is a former head writer and executive producer of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart. He was nominated for a Tony for cowriting the score to the 2008 musical Cry-Baby and has written many of Neil Patrick Harris' songs for the Tony Awards, including "Broadway Is Not Just for Gays Anymore."

Creative team and casting for An Act of God will be announced at a later date.
