The Call, Playwrights Horizons' coproduction with Primary Stages starring Kerry Butler has extended its run through May 26. Tanya Barfield's The Call features direction by two-time Obie Award winner Leigh Silverman (Golden Child).

In The Call, Annie and Peter decide to adopt a child from Africa. But as the reality of this choice sinks in, it opens a well of uncertainty that speaks to their very identity as White Americans. Now, the two must process the challenges that inevitably come along with interracial adoption.

In addition to Butler, the cast of The Call features Kelly AuCoin (Radiance), Obie Award winner Eisa Davis (Passing Strange), Crystal A. Dickinson (Ruined), and Obie Award and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Russell G. Jones (Smash).

The Call reunites Barfield and Silverman for the first time since their collaboration on the Playwrights Horizons production of Blue Door in 2006.
