Australian playwright Wendy Beckett's seductive new play Love Therapy will open at the DR2 Theatre on April 29. Currently in rehearsals, Love Therapy is the fourth in a ten-play series of Beckett's works imported from Australia to the New York stage by Peter Walters for Pascal Productions.
Love Therapy follows a young therapist named Colleen (Margot White) as she struggles to separate attraction, passion, and the healing process. Beckett takes audiences behind a session's closed doors where we learn that Colleen believes love to be the core of all "good therapy." Temptation is hard to hide, however, when boundaries between doctor and patient are crossed. Love Therapy explores what happens when a patient's love is reciprocated by their doctor, resulting in secrets that cannot always be kept.
In addition to White , the cast includes Tony Award nominee Alison Fraser (Gypsy), David Bishins (The Glass House), Christopher Burns (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), and Janet Zarish (An Enemy of the People). Love Therapy is directed by Evan Bergman (Poetic License).
