The International Order of Sodomites (IOS) will host its next monthly variety show, The Meeting, on Thursday, April 18 — never has such a formal sentence described a tribute to the film Showgirls.

IOS, a centuries-old secret organization of homosexuals and their friends, produces a monthly variety show at the Duplex in the West Village called The Meeting where they honor various cultural touchstones of LGBTQ culture. This month's show will honor the 1995 film about a young drifter named Nomi Malone who hitchhikes to Las Vegas with dreams of making it big as a showgirl.

Special guests for the evening will include cast members from Showgirls! The Musical (at the late show only) as well as Cole Escola, John Early, and Summer & Eve. Past guests have included Tony Award winners Tonya Pinkins (Caroline, or Change) and Daisy Eagan (The Secret Garden), as well as Broadway veterans Nellie McKay (The Threepenny Opera), Tony Award nominee Howard McGillin (Something Good), Jackie Hoffman (The Addams Family), and more.

In addition to its guest appearances, The Meeting typically features camp-filled skits and musical numbers complete with biting and politically sophisticated humor. Justin Sayre, described by The Village Voice as "Oscar Wilde meets Whoopi Goldberg," will serve as the evening's host.
