Tony Kushner, Stephen Sondheim Join Starry List of Contributors to Over the Moon: The Broadway Lullaby Project

Tony Kushner and Stephen Sondheim are among the newly announced contributors to the previously reported Over the Moon: The Broadway Lullaby Project, which has been created to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Young Survival Coalition. The project incorporates a two-CD, 26 song set; a lavishly-illustrated hardcover book of 17 songs from the album, a corresponding e-book encompassing the entire collection; and a documentary film. The CDs and book will be released on May 8.

Among the musicians for the recording are pianists Fred Hersch and Brad Mehldau, guitarist Larry Campbell, multi-instrumentalist Gil Goldstein, cellist Dave Eggar, and other notable instrumentalists such as Scott Colley, Taylor Eigsti, James Genus, Kevin Hays, Aaron Heick, Bashiri Johnson, Julian Lage, Harish Raghavan, Jody Redhage, Peter Sachon, Tony Scherr, and Kathleen Tagg.

As previously reported, Broadway performers who are featured include Anastasia Barzee, Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, Raul Esparza, Sutton Foster, Brian D’Arcy James, Rebecca Luker, Kelli O’Hara, Donna Murphy, Anika Noni Rose, and Vanessa Williams.
