The Broadway revival of Godspell welcomed Corbin Bleu to the company Tuesday, April 17 with a post-performance celebration at Tony’s di Napoli Restaurant.
Bleu, who was last seen on Broadway in In the Heights and is best known for his work in the High School Musical film franchise, replaced Hunter Parrish in the role of “Jesus” in the musical, which features a score by Stephen Schwartz and original conception by John-Michael Tebelak.
He is joined at the Circle in the Square Theatre by Wallace Smith, Uzo Aduba, Nick Blaemire, Celisse Henderson, Morgan James, Telly Leung, Lindsay Mendez, George Salazar, and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle. The production’s understudies are Hannah Elless, Eric Michael Krop, Corey Mach, and Julia Mattison.
Also present at the performance were producers Ken Davenport and Edgar Lansbury, with his wife Louise.
The production is directed by Daniel Goldstein, with choreography by Christopher Gattelli.
