Frances McDormand, Sarah Ruhl Set for Edith Meiser Oral History Event

Oscar and Tony-winning actress Frances McDormand will be interviewed by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Tony-nominated playwright Sarah Ruhl at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Bruno Walter Auditorium on Monday, April 23 at 6pm.

The League of Professional Theatre Women is producing the event as part of its Edith Meiser Oral History project, which chronicles & documents the contributions of significant theatre women in many fields. Interviews with such outstanding women are videotaped & housed in the Theatre on Film & Tape Archive at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

McDormand won Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama League Awards for her performance in Good People last season. She won an Oscar for Fargo and received Academy Award nominations for North Country, Almost Famous, and Mississippi Burning.

Ruhl was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for The Clean House and In the Next Room, or the vibrator play, the latter of which also earned her a Tony nomination.

Admission is free, with a first come, first seated policy.
