Željko Ivanek and Sarah Steele will comprise the two-person cast of Slowgirl, a new play by Greg Pierce, directed by Anne Kauffman, which will be the first production to be presented by LCT3 in its new home, The Claire Tow Theater on the roof of Lincoln Center Theater’s Vivian Beaumont Theater. Slowgirl will run for six weeks only from Monday, June 4 through Sunday, July 15.

Slowgirl is the story of Becky (Steele), a teenager who flees to her reclusive uncle Sterling’s (Ivanek) retreat in the Costa Rican jungle to escape the aftermath of a horrific accident. The week they spend together forces them both to confront who they are as well as what it is they are running from.

Slowgirl will have sets by Rachel Hauck, costumes by Emily Rebholz, lighting by Japhy Weideman and sound by Leah Gelpe.

Ivanek received Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations for his performance in the LCT production of Two Shakespearean Actors. His other stage credits include The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial (Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations), Pillowman, Loot, Brighton Beach Memoirs (Tony Award nomination) and Cloud Nine (Obie Award).

Steele was featured earlier this season in the LCT3 production All-American. Her other stage credits include Russian Transport, Speech and Debate and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.
