Cabaret Cares/Help Is On the Way Gala to Honor Valerie Smaldone

Cabaret Cares/Help Is On The Way Today has announced their sixth annual gala Fundraiser to be held on May 20, 2012 at the Laurie Beechman Theater. Award-winning media personality Valerie Smaldone will be honored as the recipient of the Spirit Award in appreciation for her continuous support.

The Gala will include a cocktail hour, a live auction, a buffet dinner with unlimited beer, wine and the special Gala Cocktail, a live show featuring Broadway and Cabaret performers and gift bags for guests.

The talent line up (subject to change) is: host Jay Rogers, Aaron Lee Battle, Danny Bolero, Robert Creighton, John Demarco, Nikkiele DeMone, Bernard Dotson, Kim Dunbar, Samara Ehrlich, Tom Gamblin, Fran Leonardis, Lorinda Lisitza, Doreen Montalvo, Marissa Mulder, Sydney Myer, Alison Nusbaum, Joi Danielle Price, T. Oliver Reid, Ted Stafford, Natalie Toro, Lennie Watts, and Susan Winter.

Help Is On The Way Today was founded in 2005 by Joseph Macchia. Since then the organization has raised over $60,000 and assisted over 600 children with immediate needs requests coming from hospitals and institutions all over the Metropolitan area. Macchia raises the money largely through monthly cabaret benefits with volunteer performers from the New York Cabaret and Broadway communities. Help Is On The Way Today is a 501c3 charitable organization dedicated to assisting children living with HIV/AIDS.
