Susan Blackwell, Katie Thompson to Guest Star in Ryan O’Connor Eats His Feelings May 2

Broadway veteran Susan Blackwell and songwriter Katie Thompson will guest star in the opening night performance of Ryan O’Connor Eats his Feelings, to be presented at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on Monday, May 2 at 9:30pm.

Written by O’Connor, the show is a musical journey of the author’s experiences as a compulsive overeater and includes songs by Thompson, along with Ani DiFranco, Scott Alan, and more. O’Connor recently finished fourth in The Oprah Winfrey Network’s Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search For the Next TV Star. During his run at the Beechman, O’Connor plans to interview Tony-nominated guests from the 2010-2011 Broadway season.

The show features musical direction by Gregory Nabours, and will feature back-up vocalists Lucas Coatney and Jason Powell.

The opening night’s proceeds will benefit The Trevor Project, an organization determined to end suicide among LGBTQ youth by providing life-saving and life-affirming resources including a nationwide, 24/7 crisis intervention lifeline, digital community and advocacy/educational programs that create a safe, supportive and positive environment for everyone.
