Drag diva Sherry Vine will host and perform at Vine and Spirits, an LGBT event slated to follow New York City Opera’s April 29 8pm performance of Stephen Schwartz’s Séance on a Wet Afternoon at the David H. Koch Theatre at Lincoln Center.

The cocktail reception will feature Vine performing Broadway tunes and mingling with theatergoers.

Directed by Scott Schwartz, Séance on a Wet Afternoon is based on the novel by Mark McShane and its 1964 film noir adaptation. The opera centers on an ambitious psychic who devises an elaborate kidnapping scheme so that her “vision” can ensure a successful recovery, a generous ransom, and the fame she so desperately craves.

The company features Lauren Flanigan (Myra Foster), Kim Josephson (Bill Foster), Todd Wilander (Charles Clayton), Melody Moore (Rita Clayton), Phillip Boykin (Inspector Watts), Jane Shaulis (Mrs. Wintry), Pamela Jones (Miss Rose), Bill Lagundino (Mrs. Bennett), Boyd Schlaefer (Mr. Cole), Juan José Ibarra (Policeman), Michael Marcotte (Irish Tenor), Michael Kepler Meo (Arthur), and Bailey Grey (Adriana Clayton).
