Second Stage Extends Lynn Nottage’s By the Way, Meet Vera Stark Through May 29

Second Stage Theatre has announced a one-week extension for its world premiere of Lynn Nottage’s By the Way, Meet Vera Stark. Jo Bonney directs the currently performing production, which will open officially on May 9 and now run through May 29.
The cast features Stephanie J. Block, Tony Award-nominee Daniel Breaker, Tony Award-nominee David Garrison, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Kevin Isola, Tony Award nominee Sanaa Lathan, and Tony Award-winner Karen Olivo.
The play takes a 70-year journey through the life of Vera Stark (Lathan), a headstrong African-American maid and budding actress, and her tangled relationship with her boss, a white Hollywood star desperately grasping to hold on to her career (Block).
The production feature sscenic design by Neil Patel, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, costume design by ESosa, and original music & sound design by John Gromada.
