At a cocktail party on Thursday, April 28, at The Australian Restaurant, Australian Consul General Phillip Scanlan welcomed Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical to Broadway with a special toast to fellow Aussie Tony Sheldon and his castmates Nick Adams, C. David Johnson, Luke Mannikus, and Jessica Phillips.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert is the first Australian musical ever to play on Broadway, where it is currently performing at the Palace Theatre.

Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott have adapted the show from the Academy Award-winning film about three friends searching for love and friendship in the middle of the Australian outback. The score is made up of well-known songs, including "It's Raining Men," "I Say A Little Prayer," "Always on My Mind," and "Finally."
