A screening of Memphis HD was held on Monday, April 25, with a number of cast and creative team members present. As previously reported, Memphis will broadcast to more than 530 movie theaters nationwide, April 28-May 1.

Memphis was recorded during performances at the Shubert Theatre, January 18-21, and the screening — presented by NCM Fathom and Broadway Worldwide — features the original Broadway cast, led by Chad Kimball (Huey),Montego Glover (Felicia), Derrick Baskin (Gator), J. Bernard Calloway (Delray), James Monroe Iglehart (Bobby), Michael McGrath (Mr. Simmons), and Cass Morgan (Mama).

The musical is based on a concept by George W. George and features a book by Joe DiPietro and music and lyrics by David Bryan. Set in the segregated South of the 1950s, the show follows the story of a white radio disc jockey who falls in love with both rock & roll and an electrifying black singer.

The production features direction by Christopher Ashley and choreography by Sergio Trujillo. The creative team includes David Gallo (scenic design), Paul Tazewell (costume design), Howell Binkley (lighting design) and Ken Travis (sound design).
