Emily Bergl, Sierra Boggess, Brenda Braxton, Donna McKechnie, Joan Rivers et al. Set for Laurie Beechman Theatre in April

Theater veteran and Desperate Housewives star Emily Bergl has been added to the West Bank Café’s April 2011 line-up for The Laurie Beechman Theatre, and will perform her show, Kidding on the Square on Tuesday, April 26 at 7pm and Wednesday, April 27 at 9:30pm.

As previously reported, Carey Anderson, Jenni Barber, Sierra Boggess, Lisa Brescia, Allison Case, Ann Harada, Lauren Kennedy, Judy McLane, and Marcy Heisler & Zina Goldrich will perform in The Geisha Gig: A Benefit for Japan on Sunday, April 10 at 8pm.

Anderson will also be featured along with Kathy Brier, Brian Golub and Veronica J. Kuehn in Not Your Mama’s Meat Loaf, on Sunday, April 17 at 9:30pm. Brenda Braxton and Felicia Finley will headline the song cycle, Theatre of Rock: PEOPLE you know singing SONGS you don’t!, debuting the music of three forth-coming musicals by Chris Blisset, Matt Uremovich and Paul Stancato, on Monday, April 18 at 7pm.

April highlights will also include Tony Award winner Donna McKechnie in My Musical Comedy Life (April 4); legendary comedian and Celebrity Apprentice winner Joan Rivers (April 5, 19, 21); and songwriter Joe Iconis in The Friday Night Commotion (April 29).

Additional programming will include the performers Amanda Batcher, Richard DeFonzo as Liza Minnelli, Amy Eidelman, Tony George, Nadya Ginsberg, Denis Lambert, Jillian Laurain, Kevin McMullan, Leslie Orofino, Trevor Southworth, Christine St. Pierre, Gabrielle Stravelli, Ron Torres, Rick Weaver as well as the next installment of the Cabaret Cares benefit series; Sondheim Unplugged; the bursleque variety show Le Scandal; Get Happy! Celebrating Music in Film; and the previously reported Lonely Rhymes – A Musical Song Cycle, with music and lyrics by Peter Mills.
