Bret Shuford, Jim Walton et al. Set for Sphinx Winx Musical

Broadway veterans Bret Shuford and Jim Walton will lead the cast of the new musical, The Sphinx Winx, to be presented Off-Broadway by Tifft Productions, in association with La Vie Productions, at Theatre Row’s Beckett Theatre, May 3-July 24, with an opening on May 18. Matthew Hamel will direct, with choreography by Tara Jeanne Vallee and musical direction by Jeffrey Lodin.

The show is described as a “musical-comedy misinterpretation of ancient Egyptian history starring Cleopatra, Julius Caesar and Marc Antony.”

The cast will also feature Erika Amato, Rebecca Riker, Beth Cheryl Tarnow and Ryan Williams. The design team will include Robert Kovach (scenic design), Gail Baldoni (costume design), Annmarie Duggan (lighting design) and David Lawson (sound design). Orchestrations are by Doug Katsaros, with arrangements by Jeffrey Lodin.
