Transport Group has announced casting for Lysistrata Jones, which will begin performances on May 15 at Judson Memorial Church, in anticipation of an official opening on June 5. As previously announced, Dan Knechtges will direct and choreograph the production, which will have music direction by Brad Simmons.

The show, based on Aristophanes’ Lysistrata and featuring a book by Douglas Carter Beane and music and lyrics by Lewis Flinn, is set at Athens University, where head cheerleader Lysistrata Jones swears to hold out on “giving it up” until the school’s basketball team breaks a 30-year losing curse by winning a game.

The company will feature Alexander Aguilar (Uardo), Katie Boren (Lampito Kanagawa), Lindsay Chambers (Robin/Shelley), Max Kumangai (Tyllus), Liz Mikel (Heterai), Patti Murin (Lysistrata Jones), Kat Nejat (Cleonice), Josh Segarra (Mick), LaQuet Sharnell (Mhyrinne), Jason Tam (Xander), Teddy Toye (Harold), and Alex Wyse (Cinesius).

The creative team will include scenic designer Allen Moyer, costume designers David C. Woolard and Thomas LeGalley, lighting designer Michael Gottlieb, and sound designer Tony Meola.
