Mikahil Baryshnikov, Tony Bennett, Frank Corsaro, Glorya Kaufman, Tony Kushner, Henry Louis de La Grange and Patti LuPone will all receive honorary doctorates at the Julliard School’s 105th Commencement Ceremony, to be held on May 21 in Alice Tully Hall. In addition to receiving an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts, Kushner will also deliver the commencement address.

Julliard President Joseph W. Polisi will present the honorary degrees to the artists and cultural leaders. Polisi, celebrating his 25th year as president of the school, inaugurated the School’s tradition of presenting honorary doctoral degrees at commencement in 1987.

At the commencement, Juilliard will award 265 degrees (117 undergraduate and 148 graduate) to its actors, dancers, playwrights, and jazz, operatic, and classical instrumental musicians.
