Tony Awards Launches Online Contest

Macy’s Ticket to the Tonys, an online contest that will give two lucky fans to win the opportunity to walk the red carpet, attend and be featured on live television at the Tony Awards on June 13, has been launched.

Starting today, contestants, ages 13 and over, can upload video of themselves singing one of nine Broadway tunes, including “96,000” (In the Heights), “Good Morning, Baltimore” (Hairspray), “I’m Gonna Wash that Man Right Outa my Hair” (South Pacific), and “One” (A Chorus Line).

Entries can be uploaded at www.cbs.com/tonys through May 27 at 3pm ET/12pm. The public will be able to vote on their favorite singers through June 1. Finalists will be flown to New York City to participate in a live sing-off in Macy’s Herald Square on June 11, during which a panel of Broadway stars and experts will choose two finalists who will win the opportunity to walk the red carpet at 64th Annual Tony Awards.
