Ruthie Henshall, Bianca Marroquin to Return to Broadway’s Chicago

Ruthie Henshall will rejoin the Broadway company of Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre on April 26, playing Roxie Hart, the role which earned her an Olivier Award. She will continue with the production through June 13. Prior to her arrival in the show, Bianca Marroquin will perform the role, April 15-25. Michelle Williams is currently playing the part through April 13.

Henshall has previously appeared on Broadway in Chicago, playing Velma Kelly, as well as Putting It Together and Miss Saigon. She’s currently starring in the West End production of Chicago, playing Hart. Among her other U.K. credits are Marguerite, Cats, Les Miserables, and Oliver!.

The actress will join a company that will feature Gossip Girl‘s Matthew Settle, who, as previously announced, will make his Broadway debut playing Billy Flynn, Terri White as Matron “Mama” Morton, and Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly. Settle, White, and Wright’s first performances with the show are April 19, April 26 and April 5, respectively.

Chicago has been directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Ann Reinking. The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), and Scott Lehrer (sound design).
