PHOTO FLASH: Kelli O’Hara and Paulo Szot Star in New York Pops’ Best of Lerner of Loewe

Former South Pacific co-stars Kelli O’Hara and Paulo Szot performed at Carnegie Hall on Friday, April 16 with the New York Pops, under the direction of conductor Steven Reineke, in The Best of Lerner and Loewe.

The concert, which also featured Michael Slattery and the Cluman Singers, featured selections from the team’s Broadway hits, Brigadoon, My Fair Lady, Paint Your Wagon, Camelot, and the Oscar-winning film Gigi.

Among the selections that were performed were “If Ever I Would Leave You,” “What Do the Simple Folk Do?” “Say a Prayer for Me Tonight,” “They Call the Wind Maria,” “The Night They Invented Champagne,” “Come to Me, Bend to Me,” “The Rain in Spain,” and “I Could Have Danced All Night.”

The evening also included the presentation of the Eighth Annual Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation Award to five public school music teachers from across the country. The presentation was made by Oscar winner Richard Dreyfuss.
