MCC Theater Youth Company Showcased in Uncensored 2010

MCC Theater will highlight the work created by its Youth Company in Uncensored 2010, to be offered April 8-10 at the Julia Miles Theater.

Uncensored is a collage play that is comprised of new work created by members of the company and will feature original monologues, scenes, music and ensemble pieces explore diverse topics such as sexuality, family, relationships and other issues that are at the core of often-complex and exhilarating challenge of being a teenager in New York.

Part of the theater’s MCC Education & Outreach Department’s ongoing work, the MCC Theater Youth Company is a free after-school program for under-served city youth who are interested in learning playwriting and acting from theater professionals. The ongoing MCC Theater Youth Company program is comprised of weekly Acting and Playwriting Labs attended by over 65 students – ages 14-19 – from all five boroughs of New York City.
