Laurie Metcalf, French Stewart, and Maile Flanagan will star in Justin Tanner’s comedy, Voice Lessons, at the Studio@Theatre Row, May 22-31.

The play, which debuted last year in Los Angeles with the same cast, is about the unlikely romance between a deluded community theater actress and the overeducated vocal coach she hires to make her a star.

Metcalf received a Tony nomination for her performance in November, and was seen earlier this season in Brighton Beach Memoirs and A Lie of the Mind. She won Drama Desk and Theatre World Awards for the 1985 Off-Broadway production of Balm in Gilead. Metcalf is best known for her Emmy Award-winning role as Jackie on the sitcom Roseanne.

Stewart is best known for his role as Harry Solomon on Third Rock from the Sun. He previously appeared in Tanner’s plays, Pot Mom, Party Mix and Happy Times Xmas, and was seen last year in the Geffen Playhouse production of Matthew Modine Saves the Alpacas.
