Tony Award winner Glenn Close will be honored with the Fountain House Humanitarian Award at the organization's seventh annual Fountain House Symposium and Luncheon, to be held on May 3 at the Grand Ballroom of The Pierre. Consuelo Mack, managing editor and anchor of Consuelo Mack WealthTrack, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event, which is a benefit for the organization.

Close won Tony Awards for her roles in The Real Thing, Death and the Maiden, and Sunset Boulevard, and received a Tony nomination for Barnum. She is five-time Oscar nominee, and has won two Emmy Awards for her current FX series Damages and another Emmy for the television movie Serving in Silence: The Margerethe Cammermeyer Story.

In addition to the presentation of the award, the event will feature a panel discussion by leading experts in the fields of mental health research, treatment, and public policy, including Jeffrey Lieberman, MD; Donald C. Goff, MD; and Beth Baxter, MD.

Founded in 1948 by former psychiatric patients of Rockland State Hospital, Fountain House is the world's leading provider of recovery services for people living with major mental illness.
