Soho Rep will present a series of events in conjunction with its U.S. premiere of writer/performer Cynthia Hopkins’ The Truth: A Tragedy, which will run May 6-30, with an opening on May 13. DJ Mendel will direct.

In the piece, Hopkins weaves real and fictional narrative into a living museum of oddities and artifacts from one man’s life nearing its end. The performance is choreographed by Faye Driscoll and designed by Jeff Sugg. In addition to the regular performance times, Soho Rep will offer FREE Sunday museum hours 12pm to 6pm where the public can experience the museum for the show.

Hopkins will also be joined by various guests as part of Soho Rep’s FEED humanities program, including Dr. Richard Brockman and Fox News journalist Morton Kondracke (Tuesday May 18, at 9pm); playwright Craig Lucas (Thursday May 20, at 9pm); and “Cabinets of Curiosities” experts D. Graham Burnett, Lawrence Weschler, and Dave Herman (Thursday May 27, at 9pm).
