LaTanya Richardson, Keith Randolph Smith, and Heather Alicia Simms will join the previously announced Chris Chalk — currently appearing in the Broadway revival of Fences — and Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson as guest performers in the 4th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition National Finals, to be held at the August Wilson Theatre on Monday, May 3 at 7pm.

The evening will include the professional actors in the montage August Wilson Always Did Believe in Love, assembled by Todd Kreidler, and giving a taste of characters from all ten plays in Wilson’s “Century Cycle” as they riff, muse, and wonder at love.

The competition will feature 12 competitors from the regional finals in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Chicago and New York performing monologues from Wilson’s plays. The evening will also include a musical performance from musician Guy Davis, who recently appeared in the Broadway revival of Finian’s Rainbow.

The event is free and open to the public.
