Chava Alberstein, Fyvush Finkel, Eleanor Reissa, et al. Set for Folksbiene Benefit

Israeli singer Chava Alberstein, along with the husband-and-wife acting team of Allen Lewis Rickman and Yelena Shmulenson, is among the artists who will be performing in From the Golden Land to the Promised Land on May 2 at the Frederick P. Rose Hall. Fyvush Finkel and Eleanor Reissa will host the fundraising event for The National Yiddish Theatre – Folksbiene.

The event will also feature performances by Frank London and his Klezmer Brass All Stars; and Anat Atzmon and the Yiddishpiel of Tel Aviv, as well as from members of the Dora Wasserman Yiddish Theater of Montreal.

Alongside the entertainment, honors will be paid to Schools Chancellor Joel I. Klein; Aaron Lansky, the founder of the National Yiddish Book Center in Amherst Massachusetts, and Bryna Wasserman, the artistic director of Montreal’s Segal Centre for the Arts and director of the Dora Wasserman Yiddish Theatre.
