Abraham Lincoln's Big, Gay Dance Party to Play Off-Broadway in July

By Andy Propst • Apr 30, 2010 • New York City
Aaron Loeb's Abraham Lincoln's Big, Gay Dance Party will begin previews at the Acorn Theatre on Theatre Row on July 27 in anticipation of a August 12 opening. Chris Smith will direct this Off-Broadway premiere.

In the show, which was seen at last year's New York International Fringe Festival, a fourth-grade Christmas pageant in Lincoln's rural Illinois hometown sets off a firestorm of controversy when it calls into question Honest Abe's sexuality. Each of the three acts lets the audience see the story from a different character's viewpoint -- and at each performance the audience decides in which order the acts are performed.

Casting will be announced at a later date.
