Peabody Award Winners Are Announced

The Metropolitan Opera’s Live in HD series and the HBO miniseries John Adams, starring Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney, are among the 36 winners of this year’s Peabody Awards, which were announced on Wednesday by the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications.

The awards, which honor excellence in electronic media, will be presented in New York on May 18, with NBC newscaster Brian Williams as the host.

Among the other winners were CBS’ 60 Minutes, NBC’s Saturday Night Live, ABC’s Lost, HBO’s Entourage, AMC’s Breaking Bad, ESPN’s documentary Black Magic,, Chicago Public Radio’s This American Life, CNN, and Turner Classic Movies.
